VERBAL ABUSE AGAINST DRIVER OF TV-9 ELGUJA OBOLADZE IN TKIBULI

2012-07-13 On June 7, 2012, representatives of the coalition Georgian Dream’s office in Tkibuli met with the population of the so-called Stalini settlement. The meeting was covered by Channel 9 when suddenly a verbal dispute arose between driver of the camera crew, Elguja Oboladze and head of the supervising service of Tkibuli Municipality, Gamgeoba Soslan (Kakha) Vakhtangidze. According to Elguja Oboladze, during the dispute, Vakhtangadze threatened to make sure they’d meet some other time.
2012-07-13 According to Elguja Oboladze, on June 8, 2012, when he was getting ready to transport a reporter of TV-9, he was approached by Kakha Vakhtangidze and harassed by him both verbally and physically. Oboladze says that Vakhtangadze was encouraging anti-Georgian Dream sentiments among the population but he did not retaliate in response.
