INCIDENT IN VILLAGE DOESI
2012-07-13 On June 23, 2012, citizens of the village Doesi assembled in the center of the village, requesting improvement of irrigation water supply. Suddenly they were approached by 5-6 young men that included the nephew of the village governor Giorgi Khorbaladze along with his peers who started telling the assembly participants that they had been “subordinated by Putin”. It was followed by a clash between them and the agitated participants. Khatuna Tatanashvili of Doesi, head of the district office of the Georgian Dream in Kaspi, was present at the meeting. On June 26, 2012, Tariel and Gia Okhanashvili of Dosei were detained by the police on charges of petty hooliganism and were sentenced to administrative imprisonment.
