INTIMIDATION FROM POLICE AGAINST MEMBER OF GEORGIAN DREAM, DAVIT SHENGELIA IN SENAKI
2012-07-13 On June 17, 2012, member of the coalition Georgian Dream’s staff, Davit Shengelaia, was pulled over by the police whilst driving in his own car together with the coalition activists from Senaki to Ozurgeti. The policeman exlained to Davit Shengelaia that since he had failed to pay a previous fine for not wearing a seatbelt, they were going to impound his car. Even though Shengelaia immediately presented the receipt of payment, the car was towed by the policeman who additionally failed to record the towing. As a result, it prevented the activists from attending the assembly in Ozurgeti.
