On July 19, Bachana Gvianishvili, head of the Shida Kartli regional office of the water supply company, was fired. Gvianishvili told ISFED that he was appointed for a six-month trial period in March, but that the contract was terminated after the four months without any explanation.

Prior to that, Bachana Gvianishvili was the head of the Improvement Agency of Gori Municipality. He was appointed as the head of the regional office of the water supply company on the recommendation of Gori Majoritarian MP Giorgi Khojevanishvili. Giorgi Khojevanishvili told ISFED that Bachana Gvianishvili was fired on political grounds because of his relationship with him, even though he is not an active member of the party.
