2012-07-18 Zakaria Kinkladze was detained on charges of hooliganism under Article 239 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Later the case was re-qualified and he was sentenced to a 45-day imprisonment for hooliganism under the court’s decision. According to media reports on June 29, 2012, head of the coalition Georgian Dream’s office in Akhmeta Zakaria Kinkladze was subject to ill-treatment at the pre-trial isolator in Kvareli. On June 30 Zakaria Kinkladze was visited by representative of the Public Defender. According to the statement of the Public Defender’s office, Zakaria Kinkladze was held under satisfactory conditions at Kvareli pre-trial isolator.
