THREATENING AGAINST ACTIVIST OF FREE GEORGIA MELANIA BERIASHVILI IN TELAVI

2012-07-04 In early July 2012, Melania Beriashvili, an activist of the party Free Georgia was collecting voter signatures in Telavi for the purpose of electoral registration. On July 4, 2012, Melania Beriashvili, who lives at Alazani Avenue with her two children, was visited by a district officer of Telavi Police, Badur Revazishvili, asking her why she was collecting the signatures, how much the party paid for her work and what was her relation with the party. Melania Beriashvili informed ISFED’s LTO that during the meeting the district officer reminded her of the assistance she received from Telavi Municipality Gamgeoba one month ago. According to Beriashvili, she also received a call on her cell phone from an unknown number and demanded that she leave the party Free Georgia.
