2012-11-26 At the meeting of Sakrebulo held on November 26, letter of resignation submitted by Lagodekhi Municipality Gamgebeli Dimitry Loladze was granted. Ioseb Tkemaladze, Second Deputy Gamgebeli, is now the acting governor. The deadline for submission of applications for the position of Gamgebeli was December 7. There were total of 126 applicants. On December 20 a meeting of the competition and certification commission was held in Lagodekhi Sakrebulo. At the meeting 7 shortlisted candidates testified before the commission. On December 21, a meeting of the competition (certification) board was held in Municipality Sakrebulo for selecting one candidate out of seven for the position of Gamgebeli. The meeting was invaded by up to 40 activists of the Georgina Dream, demanding appointment of Kote Kapanadze. During the meeting, activists of the Georgian Dream invaded offices of Sakrebulo five times. During the incident Sakrebulo Chairperson Davit Bakashvili suddenly felt sick and they had to call an ambulance. Valerian Alibegashvili was elected to the office of Gamgebeli on December 27 at Sakrebulo meeting. The meeting was attended by 18 out of 24 members of Sakrebulo, all of which voted for the candidate. However, the election was accompanied by certain commotion.
