2013-01-10 On January 10, Paata Abramishvili was appointed as Acting Governor of MArneuli Municipality. Sakrebulo approved his candidacy with majority of votes. Abramishvili used to work in MIA’s Special Forces of Marneuli. Later he started working at Cartu Bank and Elita Burji. Abramishvili was the head of the Georgian Dream’s mobile group in Marneuli during elections. He was nominated by the local office of the Georgian Dream for the position of Gamgebeli. Protest rallies demanding resignation of Gamgebeli were staged in Marneuli in December. Former Gamgebeli Zaza Dekanoidze stated that he would resign only if the office of the Georgian Dream in Marneuli agreed on a single candidate.
