2012-12-26 On December 26, local population blocked the building of Martvili Municipality and did not let Sakrebulo Chairperson and Gamgebeli inside. They were demanding resignation of these two officials, saying that they had been running Martvili illegally throughout the years. On December 29, a protest rally outside Sakrebulo grew into a confrontation. The local population was irritated by appearance of UNM’s representatives at the rally. They demanded letting the Chairperson and Gamgebeli inside the building. Participants decided to stop rallying after negotiations with MP Koba Davitashvili (parliamentary majority) that lasted several hours on December 30. Protest rallies demanding resignation of Gamgebeli and Sakrebulo Chairperson started on November 20 in Martvili Municipality.
