RESTRICTION OF OBSERVER ACTIVITIES
2021-09-04 The case of Khelvachauri, where ISFED representative was not allowed to observe the meeting, is especially noteworthy. The observer was informed that she was not on the guest list. The observer tried to observe the process from the outside, but soon about ten employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs came up to her and started to exercise psychological pressure, in particular, they did not allow her to take photos and videos and even tried to read his/her correspondence while using the phone. These individuals forcibly evicted the observer from the surrounding area. ISFED calls on the ruling party to ensure the publicity of campaign activities and to conduct a more transparent election campaign that is open to both domestic and international observers.
