At the initiative of Lanchkhuti Municipality, a "Youth Council" was established for a period of 2 years, which will be composed of 19 young people from 16 administrative units living in the Municipality with the age range 14 - 29. Out of 19, 13 members were identified as a result of the competition.

The Youth Council will operate without funding and its main functions will be to involve young people in the municipal budget planning process, develop policies for them, monitor, evaluate, raise awareness about social, environmental, and human rights, as well as promote their integration.

ISFED has learnt that majority of the members of this council are members of the youth wing of the Georgian Dream regional organization and are party activists.
