On September 5, Paata abramishvili submitted a letter of resignation. The reason is not specified, although the information that the central government and local residents are dissatisfied with his job has been widely spread in the municipality. On September 6, Merab Topchishvili was elected as Acting Gamgebeli on sakrebulo meeting. In August two Deputy Gamgebelis were changed as well....

Another protest rally was held outside the office of the Georgian Dream. Members and activists of the coalition assembled in support of Gamgebeli and his deputy, rejecting the allegations. According to Deputy Gamgebeli Tamaz Enukidze, the accusations are absurd as the new Gamgebeli and his team are pro-new government, actively implementing all projects that the central authorities are carrying out in the regions....

On December 18 up to 60 supporters of the Georgian Dream staged a protest rally outside Marneuli Gamgeoba, demanding appointment of Paata Abramishvili, member of the Georgian Dream, as Marneuli Gamgebeli. They were saying that if the incumbent Zaza Dekaniodze was going to leave the office, Paata Abramishvili was to be appointed. Notably, members of the Georgian Dream are also pushing for other candidates for the position of Marneuli Gamgebeli – Burnadze and Tsopurashvili....
