On February 6, Majoritarian MP of Khashuri Valeri Gelashvili and Gamgebeli Giorgi Beraia presented Bano Gelashvili as a trustee of Surami territorial unit to the local population. His candidacy was not supported by part f the population, expressing a protest over dismissal of former trustee, Davit Garadzinski. On December 12, Khashuri Gamgebeli Roin Makharoblidze (UNM) submitted a resignation letter later accepted at Sakrebulo meeting. With majority of votes, Giorgi Beraia was appointed Acting Gamgebeli. Sakrebulo members state that Giorgi Beraia has not been affiliated to any party and has never pursued political activities. They also state that Gamgebeli was not subjected to any pressure; however, he had no right to maintain his office following the parliamentary elections....
