On March 15, 2012, Tsisana Joiashvili, a teacher at the Public School N1 in the village of Apeni was dismissed from work. The school principal, Tamar Tskipurishvili, cited the appointment of a new manager at school as grounds for the dismissal. Tsisana Joishvili contends that she was dismissed due to the political activities of her son, Zurab Gamezardashvili, who is a member of the initiative group of Georgian Dream’s office in Lagodekhi....

In early April, a chairperson of the Office of the Republican Party in Gurjaani district, Zvuad Kviralashvili, was dismissed from the position of a deputy director of the Cleaning Services Ltd. after he facilitated the foundation of the Georgian Dream in Gurjaani. His labor agreement was to expire in May but the contract was terminated in early April for no reason....

With regard to such practice of the ruling party, TI-Georgia has applied to the State Audit Service to make public the data on the funds spent by the Unite National Movement during the recent months....

Kakha Mikaia was charged with minor hooliganism and was sentenced ten days of administrative detention. Mikaia is an active political figure in Zugdidi and such facts occurs to him rather often. After one of the hearings of Sergo Chachibaia case Mikaia was holding a march along with other activists saying in megaphone: “No to Akhalaia’s Court” when police officers arrested and charged him with petty hooliganism....

The reporters entered the school and started video interviews with pupils and teachers, asking them whether or not they were ordered to withdraw an appeal that asked the school to rehire the teacher in question. The school’s guard (mandaturi) tried to expel the reporter from the building....
