According to Zakhir Murvaladov, his alleged political persecution began after he refused to engage in pre-election campaign at the request of Dmanisi Municipality Mayor Giorgi Tatuashvili. Disciplinary proceedings against Zakhir Murvaladov were launched on 26 July, after his dismissal.
