2016-07-27 Guram Chalagashvili, representative of the Civic Platform – New Georgia reported to ISFED that coordinators and activists of the party were harassed by Deputy Gamgebeli of Chokhatauri Municipality Mindia Zhgeria and representatives of villages of Chokhatauri Municipality territorial body. In particular, Mindia Zhgeria summoned a coordinator of New Georgia and threatened to take away her social benefits if she continued to pursue party activities. According to Mr. Chalagashvili, the coordinator stopped working for the party following the incident. He was reluctant to provide name of the coordinator. Mr. Chalagashvili stated that representatives of a village of Chokhatauri Municipality territorial body are harassing the socially vulnerable by threatening to take away their social benefits if they continue to attend meetings organized by the New Georgia.
