2016-07-11 Former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili participated in the UNM’s pre-election campaign in violation of campaign rules. He urged voters to support the UNM’s majoritarian candidates. Article 45 (4f) prohibits foreign citizens from participating in election campaign. On July 11, UNM’s majoritarian candidate in Marneuli Akhmed Imamkuliev organized an event for opening election headquarters. The event was attended by Gigi Tsereteli, Giga Bokeria, other members of the party and voters. Mikheil Saakashvili addressed the audience through Skype and urged them to support the UNM’s majoritarian candidate.
