According to the European Georgia majoritarian candidate for Zugdidi, Gigi Ugulava, Georgian March majoritarian candidate for Zugdidi, Giorgi Gabedava made provocative statements about Irakli Kvaratskhelia, one of the hostages, and called him an "executioner” of the European Georgia. The situation was de-escalated after the police intervened.

According to the ministry of Internal Affairs, so far, they are not aware if anyone has been arrested.
