2020-10-26 UNM majoritarian candidate Melik Raisyan told ISFED observer that election commission members appointed by the party in Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda are pressured. This was caused by Raisyan’s relationship with the former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili. In February, Raisyan visited Saakashvili in Ukraine. Their photo was published on the Internet. According to Raisyan, the photo caused negative reactions among the population and in the local media, due to the statements made by Saakashvili about the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the candidate, despite such pressure, he continues the fight and offices in both regions remain open. Raisyan refrained from specifying any names.
